Decoys aren’t required to kill turkeys, but they sure can help. Birds have a ridiculously good sense of vision, so if you are going to use a decoy, the more realistic, the better. Turkey Diaphragm Calls 

When I was first starting to learn to use a diaphragm call, I used both the green Primos series of calls and the Hunters Specialties Raspy Old Hen call. While I need to trim most mouth calls for a better fit, both of these calls work just fine without me messing with them. Primos Hen House calls have been my favorites for the last couple of seasons thanks to their user-friendly design.

Rinehart 18-in-1 Target 

This archery target is awesome! It’s easily portable (has a handle!), gives the option of all kinds of different angles to shoot, and it travels really well. This target is easy to bring along with on hunting trips to make sure your bow is still sighted in after rides in the car. Rinehart makes great targets and the multiple spots to shoot on this one allows you to get maximum use out of it. It won’t wear out as fast as a foam target and when it does, just flip it to one of its other sides. I’ve been shooting at mine for 3 years now and it’s in excellent condition.

NockTurnal Lighted Nocks 

Lighted nocks have been a gamechanger for me. Watching the exact spot your arrow hits an animal is essential information for tracking game after the shot. Knowing how far forward or back a shot might be could tell you whether to head out to find your heart-shot doe after a few minutes or if it’s better to wait and let the animal lie a while to reduce risk of pushing it. They’re also great for backyard shooting when you miss the target completely and have to find arrows buried in the grass! Just wait until nighttime and look for a glowing patch of grass. Pro tip!
